Thai Classical Dance 日本語

We teach Thailand traditional dancing handed dawn from ancient times in several parts of thailand.

In the classical dance we express not only every human emotion such as happiness and sadness but also animals flowers themselves.
In addition to 68 basic poses called Mebotlek including the pose to prey and have a greeting to people and the pose to express a deer walking in a forest, there are 40 further 40 advanced poses, totally 108 basics of classical dance called Mebotyai.

We create a dance by combining them together.
It is necessary to keep on practicing for a long time because these dances require advanced skills.
Apart from these classical dances, the dances inherited among general people are called Rum (means dance) which is characteristic of the region.
People dance Rum not only in Songkran (Thai New Year) and Roikraton (a Buddhist ceremony in which paper lanterns are floated) but also in funerals.
It is called Fong in the northern part of Thailand and characterized by its slowness on dancing and speaking. People dance with long shirts which is peculiar to northern part.

In Fongmarai as flower dancing, women dance in clothes of Lanna-Thai period with flower wreathes. People dance Fongtian as candle dancing quietly without putting out fire at night while they dance Fonglep as nail dancing with long nail made of pearls in the daytime.
The dances are called Suun in the east-northern part of Thailand (Isan).
Sungkatip is a heartwarming basket dancing for glutinous rice which embodies a wife who brings lunch box for her husband.
They are called Ram in the central and southern part of Thailand.
